The Only Thing with Meaning

The Only Thing with Meaning

Walking through the Big Y one day, with a runny nose and watery eyes from a cold I was getting over. Mom and I had to get tissues and such and she made me go with her. Right when I walked in I saw someone working in produce I have never seen before. His crystal blue eyes had drawn me to him, but of course I look like a sick hound dog. We kept catching each others glimpses, when I saw him talking to a kid I knew that worked in the meat department. Made me kind of exited because I could just ask him in school tomorrow about this kid because I believe we were both too timid to talk to each other. I know I get that way when I notice someone that I think is attractive, I found ever reason to go back to the produce department to see him and maybe talk to him I just couldn't find enough reasons my mom kept acting questionable.

A few days later I finally got up the courage to ask the kid that was working in the meat department about the boy I saw. Of course I asked him on MySpace because I didn't have the guts to even talk to him. So I asked Jimmy on MySpace and he told me that his name was George Bruso and he was 18 and all the basics. George happened to be there with Jimmy at the time, I didn't know that it was George responding to me the whole time till he told me it was him. I was confused but happy to talk to him. We started talking more on the phone and online.

The night I first had the courage to go up to him, I was at my grandmas house one night and we needed something at the store but there are two Big Y's and the one George doesn't work at is the one that's closest to her house. I knew George was working though so I begged her to go to the other Big Y so I could see him. I didn't really recognize him at first but then I just saw someone and I knew it was him. He was at the banana stand putting bananas in order and I walked over there and started to pretend to look at them. He glanced up and noticed it was me right away. I just smiled and blushed a lot, but he did the same. I distracted him from work for a good twenty minutes then my gram came looking for me. She just walked over and said. "So this is the reason you wanted to come to this Big Y." I started laughing out of embarrassment I think and introduced them. Grandma ended up inviting George over to play cards and to get to know him more. I didn't really want her to be the first one he meet because she is very critical when it comes to people I meet. But to my surprise she liked him a lot! As George and I were saying Good-bye he was waving and walking away from me and ended up tripping over a stand for fruit, he acted cool about it but we were both hysterically laughing.

Later when George came over he had his moms baby blue mini-van, because he had crashed his car into a tree the year before. He came over he was all nervous about meeting my grandpa trying to impress them with every little thing he would do. He made sure his car was in the right place and he kept doing all of the math I had to do in the card game for me because I'm not very good at math. He was just being a sweet heart and my grandma actually liked him. We ended up hanging out a lot more after that. He would walk to my house before and after work and we became best friends and started getting really close.

I realized that I started liking him a lot. I loved all the attention he gave me and how I realized, well thought that he was starting to like me too. So I started showing it more, being a bit more flirty. He noticed but waited because he wanted to make sure that he and I were meant to be together. We fell in love and he and I became official on January 21, 2008, and have been perfect ever since.
